About Us
Fuerza Laboral is our grassroots leaders. We believe there is power in numbers, and that community folks are the experts on issues that affect them directly. Our leaders run community meetings, conduct outreach, develop strategy, and plan campaigns and direct actions.
We opened our doors as an independent immigrant and workers' organization on September 1st, 2006, founded by community leaders and organizers. Workers can drop by the office two days a week to consult with staff and leaders about labor problems and what they can do to change them, but we do not do case management. We always try to find a collective solution; a solution that will build community power. If only one individual is involved in an unjust situation, we provide the tools for that worker to be able to advocate for themselves.
Fuerza Laboral is a member of National People's Action (NPA). NPA is a Network of
metropolitan, regional, and statewide organizations that build grassroots
power. NPA works to build the collective political will to advance racial
and economic justice.
